1.
The sun was stretching out forever, I could see the dead of winter’s gone, and the light is coming in. In the mornings we’re together, dancing through the world like naturals, as our time is running thin. I could just see it: the sum of all feelings. It went on and on forever, gone in half a second. Moments that we have together, it went on and on forever. gone in half a second’s time. Since the days when we first saw the light, I’ve felt that death was coming on, and our time is at an end. In the mornings we’re together, dancing through the world like naturals, and now we are growing out.
2.
I was running to the grave. I was running to behave. From the light that you were in, to the night grew so dim. I was fighting through the crowd, I could barely get around, through the static we were in. ‘Cause you were the mess of things, you were the death of kings, I couldn’t get out, No, I couldn't get out. Can’t believe we were the same. Can’t you see the mess you’ve made? Some things fall between, all the fears in which we bleed. All my friends, they are, reaching for all the stars. And I’m lying in the streets, with guttered teeth. ‘Cause you were the mess of kings, you were the death of things, I couldn’t get out, No I couldn’t get out, ‘Cause you were the mess of things, You were the death of kings, I couldn’t get out then. No, I couldn't get out then. ‘Cause you were the mess of things, you were the death of kings, and I couldn’t get out then, No I couldn’t get out then, ‘Cause you were the mess of me, I couldn’t help but think, That I was a mess tonight, I was a mess tonight.

Stay 03:56
I was out there living through my time. You were out there wandering in the light. Darling, help me, I’ve been lost this time in the life. In the fire way above the trees, burning higher until it’s all we see. Through the fire you pick me up and I, reach out for you because, I want you to stay. And all this time I was just looking for you. With all the fumes I’m breathing in, if the help is here will I be okay? The tides are slowly turning and, The winds they shift and pull you in. Then I begin to fall and feel you slip away. I want you to stay.
4.
In the morning I woke, and the sparrows have passed. And your fever it broke, and so you are free at last. Lover, you’re out there, dancing in the dark. Lover, you’re out there, dancing in my mind. I could not say for sure, if things ever will be the same. All my senses are broken. Will things be okay again? Lover, you’re out there, dancing in the dark. Lover, you’re out there, dancing in my heart. How you’re out there. In the mornings I woke, wandering in and out the days. How long can I hold on? Will you slowly fade away? Lover, you’re out there, dancing in the dark. Lover, you’re out there, dancing in the dark.

about

This album isn't necessarily a concept but more so a feeling.

The thing that freaks us out about life is how ephemeral it is. Have you ever found yourself at a bar with a friend, talking about how awesome it was that time you went camping that one summer, or took that road trip last fall? But then you realize that it wasn’t last year but actually three or four years ago. That sensation truly irks us. Life is fast, man. It’s hard to pin down the sensation of time passing, but we wanted to make an attempt in music form. These four songs capture snippets of life in fast-motion, remembered in bits and pieces, spliced together in memory like four distinct reels of tape.

However, despite how alarming that sensation might feel, above everything else, we tried to make this record as fun and exciting as possible. That camping trip or road trip, while a distant memory, still was a great time. We're huge fans of pop music. It's like the undeniably greasy goodness of cheese pizza in music form. And that's how we wanted the songs to feel: fun pop jams that you want to repeat as soon as it ends.
